Our mother, Elpina Vedova, was born in 1921 in Fabriano, Italy. Since my brother and I were born in 1941 and 1943, respectively, the only way to obtain Italian citizenship was by completing a legal process through the Italian courts (see here for a further explanation).
My son Xavier is an executive with the McCann Group, which is a leader in marketing agencies in the world, of which he manages two of their offices in Central America. I had delegated the task of finding a group of lawyers to present our case to him, of which the Castellari Law Firm was recommended to us by the Italian Consulate. We started the process in 2015. In that same year, we got a great Christmas present, a ruling in our favor from the court in Rome! I have already had my Italian passport issued by the Italian Embassy in Quito. I feel very proud and grateful.
